Juan Luis Potosí

La obra de Juan Luis Potosí nace del oficio y la emoción. Inició su carrera en 2008, mientras estudiaba diseño industrial, al experimentar con materiales que le permitieron retratar su propio caos interior. Desde entonces, el cuerpo humano —deformado, oxidado y expresivo— se ha convertido en el eje de su exploración artística.

Su trabajo refleja una profunda conexión con el tiempo, la materia y la condición humana. Inspirado por las esculturas precolombinas y artistas como Dalí, Altmejd y Javier Marín, Potosí crea figuras que evocan la fuerza y fragilidad del espíritu.

Ha expuesto en México y Canadá, destacando su muestra en ArtLab Montreal (2024). En 2022 fundó Dreamers Sculpture Workshop, un método con el que ha guiado la creación de más de 400 esculturas alrededor del mundo.

En 2025 presentó su primera obra monumental, “Camino a Marte”, en Martorell, símbolo del equilibrio entre humanidad y naturaleza. Ese mismo año prepara su primera exposición en Europa junto al escultor Jesús Villalpando.

Juan Luis Potosí’s work is born from craft and emotion. He began his career in 2008, while studying industrial design, by experimenting with materials that allowed him to portray his own inner chaos. Since then, the human body—distorted, weathered, and expressive—has become the core of his artistic exploration.

His practice reflects a deep connection to time, matter, and the human condition. Inspired by pre-Columbian sculpture and artists such as Dalí, Altmejd, and Javier Marín, Potosí creates figures that evoke both the strength and fragility of the spirit.

He has exhibited in Mexico and Canada, with a notable show at ArtLab Montreal (2024). In 2022, he founded Dreamers Sculpture Workshop, a method through which he has guided the creation of more than 400 sculptures around the world.

In 2025 he debuted his first large-scale work, “Road to Mars,” in Martorell—an emblem of harmony between humanity and nature. That same year he readied his first European show with sculptor Jesús Villalpando.
